Front view - subtle!!!

Subtle differences I think.

Quick update

Kinda find it hard to see the progress by looking through the blog so keen to put progress photos in a row...

Loseit.com

I have to give credit to the tool I have been using to help me make 'better choices' as I say! :) It is called loseit.com

It is American, but it makes you put in what you have eaten each day and it counts the calories, some of the things you kinda have to twist about in a way to make it fit but it gives a rough estimate. I started cutting down to 1190 calories in a day which is no where NEAR enough! With exercise on top of that. I have since upped it to about 1400 cals a day just to give me that extra. Although I am not really hitting it at the mo. I guess I have become accustomed to eating smaller portions and not eating carbs at night etc. Here is a snap shot on what it looks like!

Inspiration

Goal: 62kg.
Current: Don't know - scales gone - checking on Monday eeeek!
Pictures taken: Friday 30 September (2months away from finishing the challenge)

Target areas: Love handles and top of thighs!

Back on track

As the title says, I'm back on the bandwagon, riding that very bumpy track we call weight loss.

My challenge leader held a nutrition session today which inspired me to get my eating back on track.
He said most stuff that I was already doing such as:

  • no carbs at night (which was a good reminder because I was having bread as a snack at around 8pm the last couple of nights).
  • He said to hit the gym/cardio first thing in the morning to burn that extra fat because if we do it the other way around you will just be burning the food you have eaten in the day, not the extra stored fat (which if course is what you want to lose!).... so I am going to get back into my walking in the morning before classes. Gosh I am very lucky I am a student and have those mornings free - feel for those who work fulltime!
  • He also said that its a good idea to have protein shakes instead of morning tea or afternoon tea as it is sometimes really hard to get that good nutritious protein we need during the day. So I think I am off to buy some protein powder this weekend to keep me on track and have decided I'll have one probably in the afternoon before the gym just to keep me going till dinner time. I feel like one of those fitness freaks hahah! Love it.
  • He gave me some good ideas about meals and I think I will try cook some couscous for lunches - must get some good recipes under my belt!

I didn't get my usual amount of work out unfortunately but tomorrow is another day.

Anywhoooo off to do some homework!

So.. that was the weekend (and Monday)

Wow.
Ok.... where to begin. Food fail.

This is going to be short and sweet, due to the fact that I am ashamed and a (LOT) disappointed in myself.

Friday - Subway 6 inch - chicken something a rather.
Friday night - downed loads of wine
Friday midnight(ish) - McDonalds - Chicken meal deal... McChicken, Chicken bites, fries, coke...aaand some sundae.
Saturday - Sushi
Saturday night - Loads of Vodka Lollie drinks.
Sunday - KFC - Spicy chicken fillet with fries, potato and gravy, pepsimax and a bread roll.
Sunday night - Creamy chicken and pasta.

If that doesn't scream fat and carbs to you, I don't know what else will.
All of that and no exercise.

But you know what. Maybe thats just what I needed? I must admit, I was craving KFC like there was no tommorrow and now that I have had it, I can let that craving rest.

But then came Monday - fresh new start, stoked to get back into the swing of things. Heading to tech and I spy a BP with a coffee and muffin deal. Did you know a large blueberry muffin (not actually the flavour I got) is worth 547 calories! Are you kidding me?! Thats almost half my daily allowance. The walnut, carrot and cinnamon muffin is probably no better than the blueberry muffin and on Loseit I even cheated and called it oat bran. What a cop out.

Just before I wrote this post I had already had dinner...gone to tech....came home and was CRAVING hot chips. Instead I opted for two pieces of toast - unnecessary.

I have made a pact with my boyfriend and although he loves me just as I am he knows I have a goal and with this goal comes the need for motivation and I trust him with everything, so he is my motivation. He is the one I can go to and talk to about this when I need a bit of motivation. Everyone else will judge me, he won't.

It really is a constant battle this weight thing.

Will keep on chugging.

Signing off - filled up on carbs.
Tomorrow is another day.
